Restaurant owner questions about ROB

What is Restaurant Owner Buddy (ROB)?

ROB is an AI operating companion built for independent restaurant owners. Owners can speak or type to ROB to work through problems, organize priorities, and keep a useful record of restaurant facts, decisions, actions, and results.

Who is ROB built for?

ROB is designed for independent restaurant owners, co-owners, and principals who carry responsibility for the business. It is built around the practical decisions an owner faces, not around generic office workflows.

What can ROB help a restaurant owner with?

Owners can use ROB to think through labor and scheduling, food cost, menu pricing, cash flow, hiring, leadership, vendor conversations, guest recovery, operating priorities, and other day-to-day restaurant decisions.

Can I use ROB for multiple restaurant locations?

Yes. A multi-location operator can use ROB today by treating locations with the same concept, standards, and operating model as one operating context, or by starting with one location as the working restaurant. Includes one restaurant location and one owner account. Multi-location is coming soon. Start with one restaurant today; later you'll be able to add locations to this same ROB account, with a separate space for each restaurant and one All Restaurants area. Discounted pricing for additional locations will be available with the dedicated multi-location account.

How is ROB different from a general-purpose AI chatbot?

A general chatbot usually starts with the prompt in front of it. ROB is designed to build private operating context around your restaurant, remember accepted decisions and follow-ups, and connect later results to what you decided earlier.

Does ROB make decisions for the owner?

No. ROB helps the owner ask better questions, compare options, and turn an accepted decision into a clear next action. The owner stays in control and decides what the restaurant will do.

Does ROB require a POS connection?

No POS connection is required. An owner can tell ROB the relevant numbers and circumstances in conversation or add operating information directly. Supported connections can provide additional context when they are available.

Is my restaurant information private?

ROB's operating records are scoped to the signed-in owner's account and protected by owner-only database access rules. Community conversations are separate; private restaurant context is not posted to the Community unless an owner chooses to share something there.

How much does ROB cost?

ROB is $39 per month or $450 per year after a 7-day free trial. Includes one restaurant location and one owner account. A payment method is required to begin the trial, nothing is charged that day, and the owner can cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first charge.

Is ROB a replacement for an accountant, attorney, or licensed adviser?

No. ROB is an operating and decision-support companion. It can help an owner prepare questions and organize the facts, but professional financial, legal, tax, employment, safety, and medical decisions still belong with qualified advisers.

How do I start using ROB?

Create an owner account, begin the seven-day trial, and talk or type about the restaurant issue that matters most today. ROB does not require a long software implementation before the first conversation.

Do I have to speak to ROB, or can I type?

You can speak or type. Voice is useful when you need to think through an issue while moving around the restaurant, and text is available when you want privacy, precision, or a quieter way to work.

Will ROB remember my restaurant between conversations?

ROB is designed to preserve useful restaurant context between conversations, including accepted facts, problems, decisions, actions, results, and learnings. You should still review important details and correct anything that has changed.

How does Restaurant Operating Memory work?

Restaurant Operating Memory organizes useful context as Restaurant, People, Facts, Conversations, Problems, Decisions, Actions, Results, and Learnings. That structure helps ROB connect today's question to relevant information and earlier choices without forcing the owner to start over every time.

Can ROB help reduce food cost or improve menu profitability?

ROB can help an owner examine food-cost information, menu prices, item popularity, contribution margins, portioning, waste, vendor changes, and possible next actions. The usefulness of the analysis depends on the records and circumstances the restaurant shares.

Can ROB help with restaurant labor and scheduling decisions?

ROB can help an owner think through labor targets, staffing levels, scheduling pressure, overtime, productivity, hiring, training, and leadership conversations. It supports the decision process; the owner remains responsible for employment decisions and applicable labor rules.

Can ROB help with cash-flow and vendor problems?

ROB can help organize the facts behind a cash-flow concern, compare payment or purchasing options, prepare for a vendor conversation, and identify a practical next step. It is not a substitute for an accountant, lender, or other qualified financial adviser.

Can ROB keep track of decisions, actions, and follow-ups?

Yes. ROB is designed to keep the reason and context behind an accepted decision, turn it into a clear action or follow-up, and connect a later result or learning to that earlier choice.

Can ROB help with an unhappy guest or a difficult employee conversation?

ROB can help an owner slow down the situation, organize what is known, consider reasonable response options, and prepare a clear conversation. Urgent safety, legal, medical, or employment matters still require the appropriate professional or emergency resource.

Does ROB share my private restaurant information with other owners?

No. Private restaurant operating context stays separate from the owner Community. ROB does not post an owner's private facts, conversations, or operating records to other members unless the owner deliberately chooses to share something in a Community area.

What is included in a ROB membership?

A ROB membership includes includes one restaurant location and one owner account. It covers one restaurant location and one owner account, with access to ROB conversations, saved restaurant context, practical operating tools, playbooks, and the private owner Community.

Can I use ROB on my phone?

Yes. ROB is a web application designed to work on modern phone and desktop browsers, so an owner can speak or type from the device that is practical at the moment. A dependable internet connection is required.

Can I cancel during the free trial?

Yes. You can cancel before the 7-day trial ends and avoid the first membership charge. A payment method is collected when the trial begins, but nothing is charged that day.

Does ROB guarantee lower costs or higher restaurant profits?

No. ROB can help an owner understand the situation, compare options, follow through, and learn from the result, but outcomes depend on the restaurant's information, decisions, execution, market, team, and many other factors.
