ROB Hospitality Technologies Corp.
Effective 29 August 2026 · Version 2026-08-29
ROB is built for independent restaurant owners, and a lot of what you tell him is personal to your business. This page explains — in plain language, without legal wording — what happens to that information, how ROB's AI works, and what you can control.
Your data
- What ROB holds — your account details, your restaurant profile, your conversations with ROB, the facts he saves to stay useful between chats, and anything you publish in the owner Community.
- Who can see it — you. Your private conversations are never shown to other members, and only the content you deliberately post or send is visible to other owners.
- Isolation — every table is protected at the database level so one account's data cannot be read by another, not just hidden in the interface.
- We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
- Leaving — you can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time by writing to support@restaurantownerbuddy.com.
How ROB's AI works
- When you ask ROB a question, the relevant text is sent to our AI provider so it can generate a reply. Details about service providers and purposes are in the Privacy Notice.
- Your conversations are not used to train AI models. ROB reaches models through Lovable's AI gateway, which does not keep the text of your requests or replies — the operating record of our usage stores counts and costs, not your words.
- Voice is transcribed to text for the conversation. Audio is not kept as a recording after it has been transcribed, and ROB's spoken replies are generated in zero-retention mode, so the voice provider keeps no copy of what was said or spoken.
- ROB saves useful operating facts so he remembers your restaurant. Sensitive personal matters — health, family, intimate subjects, personal financial distress — are not carried into long-term memory unless you explicitly ask him to remember them.
- ROB can be wrong. He is an experienced operating companion, not a lawyer, accountant, or safety inspector. Check anything with legal, tax, employment or food-safety consequences with a qualified professional before acting.
- You are always in control: you can stop ROB mid-answer, and delete conversations.
Privacy choices
- Marketing email is opt-in at signup and can be switched off at any time.
- Product analytics are anonymous and content-free — never your messages, transcripts, files, or restaurant name. Public discovery measurement keeps only a fixed page category and a broad source such as Google, ChatGPT, or direct; exact URLs, referrers, query strings, and search terms are discarded.
- No advertising cookies and no session recording.
- The full detail lives in the Privacy Notice.
Security practices
- Encryption in transit for everything between your browser and ROB.
- Per-account isolation enforced in the database, not only in the app.
- Credentials for any service you connect are stored server-side and never exposed to the browser.
- Sign-in is protected against automated abuse, and sensitive routes are rate limited.
- Optional two-factor authentication protects administrative access to ROB's own systems.
- Security headers, including strict transport security, are enforced on every page.
Payments
Paddle is our reseller and Merchant of Record. Card details are entered on Paddle's own secure checkout — ROB never sees or stores your card number. Membership is $39 per month or $450 per year after a 7-day free trial, and the first 14 days after your first charge are covered by our money-back guarantee.
Report a security or privacy concern
If you believe you've found a vulnerability, or something about your data doesn't look right, email support@restaurantownerbuddy.com with "Security" in the subject line. Please include enough detail for us to reproduce it, and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before sharing it publicly. We aim to acknowledge reports within two business days. Please don't run tests that could affect other owners' data or ROB's availability.
